The Vermont Clean Fuel Standard (S.24) was introduced into the state senate on January 19, 2023 and was referred to the Committee on Natural Resources and Energy. No further action has been taken on the bill. The bill would require the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation to implement regulations to reduce GHG emissions per unit of fuel energy by 10% below 2018 levels by 2030, or by a later date if the Commissioner determines that an extension is appropriate to implement the program.
