A Clean Fuel Standard (CFS) was suggested in Colorado in 2021 as part of the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Reduction Roadmap, which set targets for reducing statewide greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution by 26% by 2025, 50% by 2030, and 90% by 2050 from 2005 levels. The roadmap outlines the steps the state will take to achieve these targets. The CFS has not yet been officially introduced or passed into law, however. As such, specifics regarding required carbon intensity reduction schedules are unavailable at this time.
